Ruqiya alongside medical and mental-health care
How clients, families, Raqis and clinicians can avoid false choices and support safe, coordinated care.

This article provides general education. Seek a qualified health professional for personal diagnosis or treatment, and use local emergency services for urgent danger.
Avoid an either-or choice
Faith practices can be meaningful while a person also receives medical or psychological care. Framing one as proof that the other has failed can create delay, guilt and avoidable harm.
Continue prescribed treatment unless the prescriber changes it. With the client's permission, share relevant practical information between trusted supports without disclosing unnecessary private details.
Use a clear referral pathway
Raqis should know local doctors, mental-health professionals and emergency services, and clinicians can respectfully ask about spiritual coping. Each professional remains within their competence.
Document consent, concerns, advice and referral. Good coordination centers the person's safety, beliefs and choices rather than competition between providers.
